Default looking for a euhm ah, vst synth and euh

    Hi!

Thread title is a bit scary I must admit!

Ok, so, you got my message... I'm looking for a decent VST synth, euhm, something that's does it all. HAHA no,
    'cough' Got little cash.

I'll tell you what £I've tried and like and euhm sort go for more a progressive trance, maybe a little minimal psy in it.
Anyways, I've got a virus TI. BUT, this thing needs something extra. Apart from all the Vengeance sample. So I'm asking just to know you're preference in terms of plug ins on which you count on more for euhm production.

I like Nexus, because it's straight forward and I can open 50 of them easy.

Omnisphere, because also think it's got big euhm, sounds... lol

and, well I'm also interested in Trilian.

I haven't tried the spectrasonics. Nexus I have, I've also tried the demo of Fxpansion (all of 'em) sort of getting into a more ambient style of trance with these demos.

I know none of these soft synths are comparable to each other but euhm, it's a difficult decision so wanted to know which plugins you count on most whether I mentioned these or others. I've got a 400Euros for this and I want to produce progressive trance/Psytrance (as u may know

    Best:=) And THANKS
    jeff

Well you got a Virus Ti, what more do you need!?

Synths I like and are my "goto's" are Albino 3, Zebra 2 and as you said Omnisphere.

"euhm" - confuses me... as in errrm?
Seph.Net - Info, news, mixes and my latest tracks
    Psyam - a new musical collaboration ;o)
MerKaBaTribe.com - How fast do you want to spin today?

    Yes

Errrrm, good question. I need more realistic sounds to add on top of the great 'TI', I need orchestrals sounds... real instrument sounds from around the world. I also need cinematic sound fx and great percussions.

I quite like Miroslav - Philharmonik for orchestral stuff...

Otherwise maybe best finding some good Sample CD's for real instrumental stuff (aside from recording someone who can play what your after).

Percussion wise just get some good samples, process and arrange to greatness (may take time, unless your a drummer, this seems to help).

i would go with omnisphere if its in your price range and your 'puter can hack it(its a pretty massive file). its got a huge library of real instruments that have been sampled really well which you can use straight up or use as a starting point for your own sounds.

you could get alchemy. its great for psytrance, and theyve just released a new load of free samples and presets for registered users which apparently include lots of sampled instruments.
im downloading it now, and im particularly excited about the hammered dulcimer

Alchemy... Is that the one where you can create a sound using an image ? If it is that's phat, will see if I can find a demo to test it out n'see.

Omnisphere must be in almost everybodies go to plug by now...Cheer am leaning more towards that eventually, must be awsome to create your own layers with that!

    Will test this out aswell.

Luckily, I got an extra €200 to invest in my next vst synth(s). Reaching a total of €600.
Its becoming serious amount and there are so many softs synth out there to choose from.
I'd thinking now I can afford the NI Maschine... Looks like a must have no ?

Suggesting alchemy too. It can probably do a lot more that synths you have already. Or if you want something a bit more dirty theres Waldorf Largo.

Kinda supprised you havnt gone Ni Maschine straight away knowing the way you produce.

I'd highly recommend Albino and Predator for psytrance. Actually, any Rob Papen stuff is amazing, but Predator has a bank of psy/trance patches and there are several packs you can download for free for Albino - Psyload one is great and Cosmosis has 2 free packs on his site that are amazing!

also worth mentioning also that NI Komplete 7 has just been announced... looks pretty mega and fits within your budget i think.

I've tried all the Rob Papen vsts, Krishna aswell, they are all good vsts but wouldn't be the ones I'd go to all the time, they 'd be great add-ons in my vst list though. Currently testing out Alchemy and what a beast that one is, great interface, looks a bit like the NI kore 2 and I like the sound quality. The only thing I think I'd be lacking of is bass within it but maybe I'm wrong I've just started a tune yesterday and I all I can say is that is that I'm enjoying every single patch from it, with 6 of them running at the same time. To bad there aren't demos of the Spectrasonics. With the budjet I got right now I could eventually get the complete bundle of Alchemy with all 11 xpansions. On the other hand I could probably find and extra 150 to get the complete Spectrasonics bundle (Omnisphere, Styluse rmx and Trilian) but since I haven't used these all in one project I'm not sure if I should get them all or just, let's say Trilian and Omnisphere, or just Omnisphere or just Stylus rmx. Alchemy is the kind of vst I like to work with, and also it can load samples of my own (haven't tried that) but so far I love the sound of it
