    Dear All

Please can you post here, links to sites that offer free album/live set music downloads.

Please can we link to specific albums (or live sets) and give a brief description (or place tags) to state what the style of music is on offer.

Not exactly brand spanking new but for starters...

    http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/entheos-audio-archive-10/ Volume 1
Entheos Audio Archive 1.0 features a blissful assortment of intelligent psychedelic downtempo and visionary ambient electronica from the west coast of Canada and the United States. It was originally compiled by Akhentek of the Entheogenetic Label Group and released on CD as a free gift for all attendees of the inaugural Entheos summer solstice festival and conference in 2007. The high-resolution artwork included in each package doubles as the festival map and stage schedule; this should give you a feel for the event. Be sure to check out the Entheos web site for information on this year’s gathering, to be held on the Sunshine Coast, B.C.

    http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/entheos-audio-archive-20/ Volume 2
Compiled by Akhentek and Basilisk, Entheos Audio Archive 2.0 showcases the emerging psychedelic frequencies and vibrations emanating from Canada and the Pacific Northwest. Orchestrated as a well-rounded voyage through several styles of psychedelic trance and downtempo, Entheos Audio Archive 2.0 features an eclectic assortment of silky-smooth full-on, deep organic progressive, and enchanting chill out grooves. This Entheogenetic Label Group release was mastered at Ilum Studios by Akhentek and features artwork by Onbeyond Metamedia.

    http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/entheos-audio-archive-30/ Volume 3
Compiled by Basilisk and Akhentek, Entheos Audio Archive 3.0 showcases a dazzling array of psychedelic trance and downtempo music reflecting the spirit of the Entheos Summer Solstice Conference and Festival, an annual gathering of the Pacific Northwest tribal dance community. The story begins with powerful full-on psytrance but quickly drops into deep dubby soundscapes and hazy broken beats before cruising to a shimmering finale. Although heavily stacked with Canadian content, this compilation also includes a pair of offerings from our American kin as well as a special guest appearance by Norwegian producer Phobosphere. Entheos Audio Archive 3.0 has been mastered by Akhentek at Ilum Studios and features artwork designed by Onbeyond Metamedia

I don't know what happened to Dub Beautiful Collective (live sets from the likes of Ishq, Aes Dana, Nalepa etc) the site has been down for months which is a shame, but eyes peeled.

Thank you Nabla. This is nice to know too. I wasn't thinking of generic netlabels however. The aim is more specific to album downloads or full length live sets.

I don't know about live sets, but I've downloaded dozens of full length albums from Jamendo. There's some psy and goa in there, some decent stuff.

    OK.

Can we link to specific albums please! (that may or may not be on these sites)

Just posing a netlabel address and saying "there's loads of stuff here" isn't what I had in mind.

I am (and many others are) (probably) already aware of most of them.

    Ta.

Tanmaurk is the second full-length release from Zealotry Music, a Danish netlabel dedicated to homegrown downtempo and ambient music. Drifting from wobbly organic grooves to glitchy electro-acoustic soundscapes, this compilation meanders through a variety of psychedelic chill out moods. Tanmaurk takes its name from a runic inscription found on the one of the Jelling Stones, monuments erected at the behest of King Harald Bluetooth in the late 10th century to commemorate the Christianization of Denmark. These stones are widely regarded as the birth certificate of the Danish nation.

Darren Evans aka Noodreem is no stranger to the electronic chilled soundscape artform. Having been featured on key releases on labels such as Interchill and Liquid Records, Darren has beem active for some time.

One time label manager for Dragonfly Records and now boss of Sangita Sounds, Noodreem has offered some fine releases of his own.

Noodreems first album "One Love" is a masterpiece and now Darren offers Rainbow_Retrospective (a collection of selected works) as a free download from the Sangita Sounds website, with a request for donation, which is wholly fair due to the quality of the music.
