204 Aural Exciter and Optical Big Bottom - any good?

I'm looking to fatten up and dirty my CD sets and have been oferred one of these. Will it do the job and/or does anyone have any experience / views on them?

I know that the purists will say that CDs can never replace the warmth of vinly, but as a digital child, I'd like to have a go ...lol
