...so i just backed up my music pc's data partition onto another pc and now that i have put the disk back into the original pc it wont boot

i checked the connections > ok, jumper settings > ok, checked the boot seq..all cool, tried again > boot failure<boot failure="">

...repeated above....<boot failure=""> > boot failure

booted from xp disk and went through the motions of re-install, windows install shows the system partition as intact so (as i was intending to do this anyways) i format the partition and re-install with my new version of xp.reboot...<boot failure=""> > boot failure<boot failure="">...GGgggrrrrrrrmmmppphhhh!!!

tried again...fuck!..and again...fuckit.....and again...oh fuck off now

<boot failure=""><boot failure=""><boot failure=""> Duz anyone have a clue about whats going on here?...im at my wits end (as me Ma would say)

was being a stoned div, james came round thismorning and sorted it in secs.

reconfigured the cmos...sorted:Wink3:

i don't think you harddrive is faulty. it may be that the active boot partition was changed when you booted from the other hd. get a bootdisk and use fdisk to change the active partition.
