Worth seeing Foz do Iguaçu if u can. Iwas in the Rio Grande do Sul for a couple of months pretty nice down there way out in the sticks. Cities are massive. How many people in Rio? 18 million or something?

Generally the people there are great, esp where I was and Bahia. Sounds fun. Keep safe in the big cities, cos it isn't.

Hi Earthmunky! Glad to read that u r coming to South America! Well i ll tell u about a small place i went a couple of years ago. It s called Ferrugem and it s 80km from Florianopolis. Cannabis is almost legal (imagine there s only 1 police truck in the whole town) and the place is full of bars and small clubs where u can listen to reggae and brazilian dance hits. I never heard psytrance in that place but the atmosphere it s really cool. The beach s only 50 meters from the clubs and there s party all week. Accomodation costs 30 reales per day (remember i went there 3 years ago) which is approximately 6 quid. I have more info if u r interested. Just let me know.
Also if u r planning to come to Buenos Aires Argentina let me know coz that s where i live.
    Best regards

    http://www.praiadaferrugem.com.br/

if u wanna see more sites about Ferrugem just write "ferrugem" in Google. Unfortunately they r all in portuguese or spanish...

I also heard about a cool place, small hippy town near Bahia. It s called Trancoso and it s near Porto Seguro. I dont have more info about it but i heard it was pretty cool... some kinda goa in brazil but never been there.
Actually i m not sure if it s Trancoso or Troncoso

Anyway if u r looking for info about psyparties in Brazil u should check:
    http://www.baladaplanet.com.br/home.asp
    http://www.karahana.com.br/
    http://www.universoparalello.art.br/
    http://www.interbaladas.com.br/
    http://www.psytrance.com.br/

but i recommend u to check this sites with someone who speaks portuguese coz most of 'em r in that language. Another thing s that u should check this site once u r in Brazil coz most of the parties are not confirmed.

(pronounced Tri-da-je) coz its the loveliest beach.....beautiful

also check parati although its real touristy, its worth it for the architecture.....

Near Florianopolis, heading south abouth 30min you find a very very special beach called Guarda do Embau (a river full os fishes meets the sea, there's sand, grass, cactus, cows, waves and a bitiful sky full of stars).
(but i don't think you will find psychedelic trance there)

Luna Lis have u benn to the festival Ypy Poty? It was my first ever psy festival. The most special 4 me.
Ubatuba is another very nice beach. It is in the north of Sao Paulo, nearly in Rio de Janeiro.

But well, if you go to Bahia that's the place. Try to go to Chapada Diamantina too. Or if you like crystals like me, go to Chapada dos Veadeiros (GO). This place is very magical. Its is alligned with the paralell 14, the same as Machu Pichu. And if you want to get some psychedelic from there, go to Trancedence between 14-18 july.

There's another review about this place here:

Wish you a good time there!
I am going in January next!

Wow, just stumbled across this thread - great info. I'm out there sometime April / May as a stop on my travels... was intending to focus a little more on the surf side of things, but now I hear there's a bit of trance out there too I'll have to keep an eye out.

Psyxel - glad to hear there's a bit of a psy-presence in Buenos Aires, I'll give you a shout if I can fit that into my schedule (currently ballancing a lot of different ideas for places). :?

    Hi freaks,

In Brazil you can spend 1 year doing different things, going to different places, having different feelings...
    It’s a matter of choice.
If you want to go party go to São Paulo or Belo Horizonte (Minas Gerais): the best psy trance scene in our country. Lot’s of good outside party, as an example below:

xxxperience - next weekend São Paulo:
    23:00 danika
    01:00 noronha
    02:00 mushroom
    03:00 live act! vibra
    04:00 LIVE ACT! ABSOLUM
    05:00 feio
    06:30 rica amaral
    08:00 LIVE ACT! SKAZI
    09:30 dimitri nakov
11:00 eran vs gabe star x
    12:00 LIVE ACT! ESKIMO
    13:00 yasser hanzi
14:00 live act! burn in noise
    15:00 LIVE ACT! TALAMASCA
    16:00 live act! funxyde
    17:00 LIVE ACT! TICON
18:00 live act! the first stone
    19:00 live act! skulptor
    20:00 brio

    It seems nice isn’t it??

If you want go to the beach to rest in your daytime and go to a busy nightlife (only with Brazilian music - not e-music) go to Bahia - the most beautiful beach and the most friendly people you find there.

If you want to meet great brazilians girls (that usually speaks English), if you like sports like surf or sandboard and want to see great natural views go to Santa Catarina state - Florianóplolis is a nice choice as beautiful as some beach around there: guarda do embaú, ferrugem, ibiraquera, farol de santa marta (nice tip!!)... If you are luck you will find some private party around there - the psy trance is going down to the south of brazil very fast...

Rio de Janeiro is another place you will find almost everything: music, beach, sun, traffic jam, violence... It’s a big city just like São Paulo but much more beautiful.

Finally, tell us what you pretend to do in Brazil. I would probably help you more.

    C U
