After taking my mini UV torch to Glade and having loads of people comment on it, I decided (at Ratty's suggestion) to get a load of normal LED keychain torches and upgrade them to UV :punk: Only this time, the LEDs I've used are the latest technology and 10 times brighter than the one I had at Glade :o You can buy UV LED torches commercially as 'money checkers', but these babies are at least 5 times as bright as any I've seen on the market. These things are so bright, it's dangerous to shine them in someones eye for an extended period of time for fear of giving them cataracts :crazy: (OK, maybe not literally :rolleyes:). Added to that, they're virtually indestrictible, tiny (see pics below), they can be used temporarily by squeezing them or turned on permanently using the little switch, and the batteries last for at least 15 hours continuous use (and are easily changeable) :) All for the bargain price of:

£3.00! (plus 50p p&p if I mail it to you ;))

I will be carrying a number of these with me to every party I go to until they're all sold out, but I have only 29 in total, so you'd better be quick!! PM me if you're interested ;)

oooh is that actually UV? or a very bright blue light :D Could come in hand security wise as well at uni...!
 
Yes it is actually UV :) The wavelength is 395nm peak, which is on the borderline between deep violet and ultraviolet, so it looks a lot dimmer by eye than it really is. The flluorescence you can see in the picture of the torch is blue fluorescence from the white paper it's sitting on ;)

Oh, i can't see a picture up top, but i gather i should, i never see pics or attachments, on a side note what's that about eh.

But anyway, i would reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally like two of them :)

The batteries are CR2013, and they take two of them. A pair of batteries will generally last for at least 15 hours continuous use, although you may notice it getting dimmer before then. You can get new batteries off me, cos I use them for most of my glow so I always have a load lying around. Plus if you get them from me they'll only cost you about 40p a pair as opposed to about £2.50 a pair elsewhere :o

phlee, this is bloody quality. Got a little tired saturday night, had a sit down on a speaker, out comes the uv for a play, wicked, wicked effect goin out across the dance floor, as you'd expect for a uv torch i expect.

Also looks damn cool through smoke.

Though, maybe you should have a warnings on the box with these, health and safety and all that lol, don't look at the pretty purple light for too long, no matter how sure you are you can "stop it being all fuzzy" - (said by Dave (who shall here after be named 'Stupid Dave') shortly before).

Then shortly after...

Stupid Dave : Aw man, my eyes, i can't (Dave suddenly looks confused) Hey is someone throwing berry muffins at me?
Me: what the fuck.. no. No-one's throwing shit at you
Stupid Dave: Why's everything purple then, i thought i had berry in my eyes or something
Me: Aw man, gimme that keyring
Stupid Dave: shit yeah, no way man that was cool
Me: <best stern look i could give at 3am>
Stupid Dave:Aw man, fine, i can't believe everything's so purple

...Stupid Dave dances, 15 mins pass...
