I just bought the new trust 5.1, which the bloke said was the business.....was it bollocks!! so I have taken them back. I am looking for a 5.1 system with some serious umph and crispy sound for under 100 squid, any advice?

errr .... how about the Mackie Fussion 3000 tops with Mackie Fussion 1800 Subs.
Quite loud, fairly big, not 5:1 and probably a bit out of your price range.

I'm probably not helping much am I?

You're not asking much, are you? 5 speakers plus a sub and amplifier(s) for all of them for <£100!!

Can't believe you expect quality from that!

Best bet is visit Richer sounds....They do surround amps for hifi/video with 5.1 decoders and outputs for around £100-£150...They also do a passive speaker system for around £80-£100...

IMHO this is probably the cheapest you could expect to get something *approaching* decent quality for..

maybe buy a half decent 5.1 amp for around £100 then club together your own speakers from old hi-fi stock. (??)
but yeah for a hundred quid, with amp inc. yor less than likely to get anything but 5 shitty pinny tinny speakers.

or alternatively but 1 speaker then walk around it 5.1 times. yes.
im callin it "active surround", keeps you on yer toes.
