Rob here again, checking in with more outdoor shinanagans from down under.
This time it the turn of 'Confest', a full on hippy festival on private land (owned by the organizer). This event was the first of its kind for me, it a 4 dayer across the Easter weekend with all the entertainment being provided by the punters without the use of electricity (almost). There was a total ban on amplified music. The only electricity I saw being used was a small generator used to run a few lights and a tiny speaker for the concert.
We arrived on saturday afternoon to find that there we already about 4000 people there already. WOW !
We're in the middle of the forest again with a bunch of hippies enjoying a peaceful relaxed beautiful weekend.
There were workshops for Reiki, Massage, Meditation, there were facilities for mud baths, steam rooms, showers cooking. There were areas for the concert, a fire circle, and a drumming circle. There was also areas designated for different kinds of hippies, the sacred village, the pagan village. there was something for everyone.
All in all we found it too overwhelming to get really involved with much, and we just kind of led back and watch everything going on. The one thing we really wanted to do was to get involved with a Meditation circle, but we couldnt find the area they were holding it. Sign posts were few and far between !
We have posted up lots of pics from the festival HERE.
Hope you enjoy them...... Especially the fire/poi people here, there are a whole bunch of pics from the fire circle.
