Any tips for optimising XP for use with Logic ? We were running win98 - loaded XP on to get a bit more up to date ...... Logic is running ok but when you drag a window or double click on a midi part the song stutters quite badly, the audio output was seamless with 98' - so only really a pain for "on the fly" editing ! No problems like this before XP !! On the upside though Reactor 4 now works WOOOOOHOOOOOO !!! Is it due to the fact that XP has not been tweaked properly - anything I should check - any tips >?
Turn off *all* the display effects (Mouse shadow, window animation, the lot). You'd be amazed how much hassle is caused by unnecessary writing to the graphics card.... J.
Hiya. Here's a couple of links you might find useful to trawl through... Windows XP DAW Optimization Guide MusicXP.net - Tuning Windows XP for Audio/Music Applications That should cover most of it.
Oooooohhhhh ...... Logic is running like a feckin' dream come true ...... *salivating smiley* Cheers chaps !!!!
