The album starts with prayer and I mean a prayer. Thanks to Boris for bringing back samples from India cause I was missing them. The track is beautiful, filled with melodies, pauses, and the hindu prayer. The form and the feel of the song reminds Goatrance but the production is as good as the any new track, actually in a lot of ways I found it even better.
The whole album makes you wanna dance and the gaijinrocker is a rocker complete with electric guitars.
As you may guess morningstar is a nice morning melodic smooth morning trance, though I feel protoculture has taken morning sounds further than this, still a good track.
Tje last song is a pysambient track with the usual formula with flutes and everything.

I think overall the album is good but the first track is great, I would definetly get this album even if it was only for the first track. My overall rating for the album is 7.5/10

I would recommend this album if ya like strong, powerful, acidic melodies! Some really BIG tunes on this one. Personal fave 'You Decide' big break and build and really heavy when it delivers :speaker:

Unify is one of the best CD's in my collection. Following up such a classic was always going to be difficult. Boris Blenn has got around this by creating a completely different sound on Cosmic Experiences. Gone are the twinkly melodies that are ever present on Unify, replaced instead with a tougher sound with a strong elements of the old school Goa sound.

Production as ever is excellent. But one thing struck me about this CD...the BPM's. 7 of the 10 tracks are 145BPM or faster with 2 at 148, which IMO is a bit too fast (Speed gabba psy anyone?).

That said, this is a class release from an act who's been around since the good ole days and still knows how to write good psy.

This should appeal to anyone who likes old school Goa or space Tribe type stuff. :punk:

This is how the last Space Tribe Album should've sounded!!!!!

Yeah I wasn't impressed enough with the samples of that to buy it, Heartbeat is one of my all time faves though.

dont usually like guitars in my trance diet but im so glad he remixed the old classic meteor used to love that tune wen first released hehe. also i really love the prayer tune love the way it starts and how it continues not overly keen on the rest of the tracks on there but still a nice album if its your sorta thing. Old boris seems to be a bit of a tuneage factory at the mo with his other project jupiter 8000 aswell going on.

Yep, once more I find myself in complete agreement with you Lam :-). I'm a very big fan of Electric Universe! That's one stunning album, and although ol' Boris has been round the block a bit, I somehow feel he hasn't received the recognition as Electric Universe that he deserves. I don't hear his tunes very often in clubs, which is a shame.

Perhaps it's because it's just that step different from other productions. Maybe it's just too intelligent (oooeerrr - controversy ;-). Whatever, it's a pity.

Anyways, there are a couple of remixes here, and somehow I wonder why he's bothered. The originals were classics, that didn't need any tampering with. Still, this is a quality release - even got my Wendy asking me to put it on again :-). One or two of the tracks will need careful placement, but I'll be playing them out for sure. :)

Barclay

Unify is godly and very outdoors fluffy and very spacey and very essential!(in one breath!)
Am tad reluctant for the new album from what I 've read so far...but will def give it a try!
