Do you guys know what I mean? Like the sort of soft sound that normally changes every 4 beats or so that sound like a female vocalist singing aaaaahhhh almost (like when a dentists says to say aaahhh), Is this something that artists have to get someone in to do or is there some sort of synth for it?

As you may have guessed from my last post im a bit new to the production side of things so im sure you'll see me asking many questions in the near future lol.

I am using Logic btw.

Cheers people!

up to you really dude. get someone to sing it if u want... rip it out of an old madonna tune whatever... there are synths that make vocal sounds but would only be recommended if u want it to sound deliberately synthetic.
i've done the lot.
except the madonna tune, that was an example
really
:D

what kind of synths give the effect? is there some clever thing I can do with slayer to make it sound more voice like without getting the over syth'd sound that i think the voice mod gives you (only had a lil play as i know how used slayer is)

i havent personally used slayer... and havent recently used a synth to make a voice sounds. the closest i can think of is using synths with a formant filter, which gives the sounds of vowels. z3+a (zeta) and discovery2 have formant, as i'm sure many others do. why not conider sampling? gonna give a much more realistic effect, and if you want to give it that synthy touch you can always apply fx....

i dont spose you could be after this little fella maybe?

If you have it try with reason, use one of the samplers that come with it, depends on which version you might have. They have some nice female samples u can play there from the soundbank. Not the bestest but can do the job nicely.

Absynth2 can produce sounds which may float your boat.

There is one preset in particular caled 'angel', which when covered in lashings of ambience sounds (and sits in the mix) like it 'might' be a female singer going ahhh. It's about the best I've heard anyway

not really a female nor male sound but you say your using logic yeah? Try out the evoc. Its a vocoder/synth and has some nice sound given u put enough reverb on.
