Quite impressive demo's... but then that's what demo's are designed to do.

    Bit sterile-sounding... IMHO.

They should stick to ironing out bugs in their sequencing software.

That's my totally unbiased opinion, obviously. :Wink3:

I didn't think people were interested in cheesey old slap bass anymore. Is it going to make a comeback, do you think?

Every time a new bit of software lands, there seems to be a rush to get tracks done with it. 'twas the same with Virtual Guitarist, I reckon we'll see the same with this - slap bass and all.

    Mark my words!

First guy to spot a track using this should get a prize.

I do fancy buying a *real* 'lectric bass at some point. I do miss my old one sometimes...

    Eeesh I feckin hope not...

Whats the point of a bass if it hasn't got a bassmonkey stuck on the back of it? eh? Madness.

I'll sell you one of mine if you like... I'm saving up for a copy of Steinbug Virtual Bassist!

Do you think the software goes as far as producing random annoying bass riffs while the sequencer is actually stopped?

Well, they look quite nice hung up on the wall whilst you program your basslines in Trilogy.

Give me a real bass player any day. Just done some recording with a double bassist, not only did he come up with a far better riff in no time than the one i had spent ages on with Trilogy, it has 20 times the groove and realism.

The only problem was his insistence that the bass was twice as loud in the mix as it should be cos he liked it so much.

Track 5 "Funky" by Exaile on the (very good) compilation "All Aystems Go" (http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/exp/exp1cd001.html) has bits of slap bass on it, though I think the slap bass on this is probably sampled...
