Well, s'pose I ought to be polite and mention who I am now that I've registered here.

I only recently got into psytrance after a friend lent me a couple of CDs and he managed to persuade me to head off to Glade this year. I was a little apprehensive because I wasn't really sure what to expect, but I'm so glad I had the money to buy my ticket. Glade was the most incredible experience. I felt that I was reborn several times that weekend. Great bonding with all the amazing people there who were as high as me and those wonderful rolling fields were also the surroundings for my best ever trip. Loved it.

Anyways, I was yearning for some more wonderful psytrance to stomp to and luckily the aforementioned friend was putting on a little something the next weekend. I had nothing better to do and so hopped on a train.

What can I say after that? This was the first outdoor party I'd attended and fuck was it good. Instantly one of the best nights of my entire life. I danced for seven hours straight and chatted with some real friendly peeps, probably some who inhabit these boards.

I'm off to uni in a couple of months but really hope that I can get myself off to some events before this summer's over.

Peace out, everyone. Hope to see some of you guys around if I find my way to any more parties.

Big :welcome: to the forum......Glade rools

Yay

Cheers everyone for the warm welcome.

I'm currently suffering from severe psytrance withdrawal symptoms and and yearning to get out there and do some stomping soon. It's August already and my summer's running out!

As I mentioned above, I'm just totally awed by how great it can feel to go out into a field and let yourself be overcome by these superb tunes and all the wonderful people.

Anyway, I'm going to try and browe these forums a little more and look forward to seeing all you kids at Glade next time round...

I hope we see you before next year's Glade, mate! :welcome:

Yes, it's remarkable, innit just? :bananada:

See you on a trance floor soon, hopefully.

Him x

Indeed. Were you at Alternate Perception at all or is it just my wishful thinking?

Anyway, thanks again everyone for being so welcoming. Only about one of my group of friends actually listens to psytrance so I just hope that in my desperation to get out and have some fun, I don't deluge you in crappy newbie posts over at the parties forum. :P

Thing is, I still don't really understand how these things work and, while I'm more than aware that discretion is of the utmost importance, I rely on trains and often have no idea where I should be heading and when. Half the time I'm not even sure which half of the country a party is to held in, let alone which county. I actually heard news last weekend, but was disappointed when the Liquid blue moon celebrations were cancelled. Never mind: if I say anything stupid, feel free to PM me and tell to to hush. Anyway, I'll stop rambling now - I'm sure things will work out...

Was I at Altered/Alternate Perception? I had to think... In fact, I had to look in my diary, the recent past is but a blur (well, I am 62 in 49 minutes' time so it's probably the onset of Altzheimers) but YES indeed, I was there!

Don't worry about 'crappie newbie posts', you'll be ok if you be yourself on here, mate. I can't help you if your geographic knowledge of Great Britain is such that you're "not even sure which half of the country a party is in" but a map (and http://www.multimap.com and the like) should help you out there. My knowledge of (a) Greater London and (b) southern England and the Midlands has increased enormously since I started travelling around each by night...

I see that you're living in West Sussex: what a shame you didn't make it to the Druids of Kaos Blue Moon Moot - on yer doorstep - but then it wasn't advertised anywhere. Yet well over a thousand people turned up, which shows the power of underground word of mouth (see reviews on here, it was - just - in West Sussex). Until you get to know people and we are sure that you are not UCOB then it can be hard to find things. Meanwhile, go to the multitude of licensed events, many are first-class...

Good hunting! See you on a trancefloor soon...

Well may I start by wishing you many happy returns for your imminent birthday? Being a tender lad of eighteen myself, it's pretty mindblowing in itself to think you've been living this dream for so long. At Alternate Perception I was the kid with the black top, black hair, luminous orange crucifix (from the Jesus Bus!) who danced from 1-7 - maybe someone saw me?

I find it's not so much that my geographic knowledge sucks (I know there's an atlas in this house somewhere), but I find that until the infoline open or whatever, since I'm not familiar with any of the peeps who put on these parties, I have no idea whereabouts it's going to be. I mean all I really want to know is whether it's in the south-east and accessible via a train journey of about two hours or so. Still, I'm sure I'll learn before the summer's over...

Yeah, I'm not really surprised that I didn't hear a thing about the Blue Moon Moot. Even if I'd heard of half the stuff I read about on these boards more than about a year ago, it sounded pretty underground. I caught the couple of threads about that party and was just overwhelmed with how it sounded. I get pissed off that the kids in this country are so lazy and don't care about making a difference, changing things or doing what they want and getting themselves heard every single day. Then to hear about people so passionate that they can set up such an amazing-sounding event as that with FIFTEEN rigs right under my nose really inspires me. I mean helicopters - fuck! I've never heard of the place where it was so it can't be that close (I'm about fifteen minutes from Gatwick Airport) but if I'd known about this I'd have done anything to be there.

Anyway, I might be heading off to the Warlock Sound System thing I've read about this weekend so I might even see some people there. Saw that Liquid Ross will be at some party on the same night, but I'm not relying on finding out info on that until it's too late so I think I'll go for the safer option. Even so, I'll probably be on my own and no buses run back to my house on the Sunday so nothing's definite yet.

:welcome: dude! :D

Oh and Pete, don't mock Sam's spelling too much :p :p

I think he meant "alternative" rather than "alternate" but we'll let it slide because he claims to be dyslexic.

I hope to be introduced to you at the next one... :tongue1:

Hello turkeyphant & welcome from another newbie!

I'm one of the crew you met with Teddy & Little Nemo - I was the sleepy one(!) in the faerie glade in Willesden, having spent many hours previous to then falsely believing I was invincible & partying like a goodun.

When will I ever learn? Haha, never!

Anyways, you've found your way onto a lovely community - see you in the swim...

Absolutely was not so doing, mate. - It was my poor memory that caused me to state alternative names (pun unintended! Eek, can I do nowt right!), ie I couldn't, and still can't, remember the proper name of the event even though I attended it!

So there. :P :P

As Technognome would say, P L U R

Pete x

Hey there, welcome to the forum, enjoy the joys of what psytrance can bring to you, and try and get around the country as much as you can! It'll be a good ole adventure if ya rubbish with the map as well ;) Enjoy :P

I don't think there's much hope for my remembering who you were but thank you muchly anyway. Were you one of the peeps reclining by the refreshments when I came over and attempted to solicit MDMA?

Don't ever stop believing you're invincible! I hope to see you out and about another weekend - what're you up to this Saturday? :tongue1: I'm hopefully heading up to London again so if you spot me, be sure to say hi...

Don't worry, man - I suspected it wasn't all that intentional. Don't mind me - I'm just a friendly grammar Nazi.

What the hell do you look like anyway? I've been to at least two parties you've been present at and still don't have the faintest clue...

:bananada:

And thanks to everyone else for yet another round of welcomes ;)
