Hate the Dark Soho "Balls in the Dark"

It's o>k... Nothing new - good levels n'all but.. wotever.

Go damn VB1's. I'll kick your ass if I catch you using them. They've got fuck all bottom end anyway. Is there no other bass? You can tweak and E.Q as much as you like but it's still a VB1 preset 5. You can't fool me.

The early tracks shook the scene and gave them a good name. I remember the DAT's way back when they were RED HOT>

Anyone remember AZTEC for that matter. With that heavy freak Vocoder track, ATOMIC if I recall.

:juggle:

The Pop Stream track is a little different. No particularly psychedelic really. There again not much is (musically in psy-trance) to me these days...

two words: "talpa"

:P

mmm, yea dark soho do seem to have lost their way.

early stuff (Sunspot - Depth of Emotion still gives me shivers) was them through and through - baddass phatty mess in completely their own style.

then they started collaberating with fatali and it all went a bit south (that's when I really noticed it anyway) there's elements of them hovering here and there but it's all gone a bit generic.

now that's some proper trance! -- four more: misted muppet.

the 14th by dark soho is pretty nice too!
as for misted muppet, umm his album is ok but i felt his tracks sounded ever so similar on saturday night! (planet shroom , MM live)

You really do hear those a lot... but I think it's more how they're used... sometimes they can sound really good, but I find that usually with lesser artists they tend to sound "all the same" and cheesy....

Still... Light in the Dark doesn't sound like your basic Dark Soho track, but I don't think your basic Dark Soho track wouldn't have fitted in on the Fairy Tales compilation.... lets just see this as an experment and hope that the coming album will be good, which I think it will be :)

as for dark soho, Now it's "Light Shows"! :hug1:

I havn't heard Dark Soho recently but maybe Alchemy have influenced the change in their music.

well, time to get back into this conversation again

so just to answer a few questions about dark soho, seeing that im the only on that has heard the album todate, ..... light in the dark is also on the upcoming album, a slightly different version of it to the one on fairy tales comp., the album is not as dark as some of the dark soho hardcore fans would like, but its still dark soho, just a different take on the sound they have produced in the past, Much more musical than the last album and alot of varity.... the album was mainly written over the past year, .... alot more dancefloor but not full on, they wanted to try something different without breaking too far away from the old sound, and so they did, im really happy with the outcome of this album, and im sure most open minded music lover's will feel the same. :rocker:

and Chris :grandad: ..... alchemy do not influence our artist in the way as to tell them what to produce, Dark Soho has always been a artist that does their own thing, their own sound, and we have always respected them for that

I really do not understand some views on artists, are they expected to churn out the same style album every time they write? If this was the case nobody would ever progress, how bored would you be doing the same shit day in day out just to please someone who was into your old tunes. Music is about moving on new ideas not reworking old ones.
