kanye is an unappreciative self absorbed douche. the glatso organiser Emily refuses to acknowledge this! she has some kind of spoilt superiority complex because her daddy geve her the job. she doesnt want to listen ans branded the petition "the dark underbelly of the web's opinions"

i feel she needs to open her eyes and burst her little bubble. If she wants to book him she can get her daddy to pay kanye for a private lapdance or something, hes enough of a whore and shes enough of a sheep

please sign, get everyone in your family to sign, tell your frends, retweet, email etc. if 150,000 people doent mean anything to her lets make it 350,000 then 500,000 then 1 million.

yeah trying to annoy me by comparing those three wont work, id rather watch your granny strutting her stuff on the glasto stage before watching kanye have a tantrum becasue the disabled person wont stand up for his sorry excuse for a "song"

its not my agenda, mine was simply the 123,431st voice added to the crowd. i wish it was my idea, but anyway

even if the difference in talent is shockingly obiovious for U2 vs. kanye..
one group at least have respect/understanding for music & other humans.. and one ego bloated man is furiously milking the little shred he does have for all its worth and cluttering up everyone's media stream with his subjective agendas
 
in 2007 glasto expanded to a capacity of 177,000. thats almost the whole festival to have signed this petition in a couple of days. (statistically)

honestly id rather he was a allowed to play and no one showed up but chances are its simply going to change the target audience.

i never planned on going anyway, sounds like another festival turned to shit many years ago
 
its nice to find a kindred hatred for U2, but i never really heard much general dislike for them, their music is lacking any real genius that make syou want to re-listen so they end up as boring mediocre soft-rock

The negative press amuses me no end. I've been to maybe seven Glastonbury festivals now, most of which I worked, and the bitching starts around this same time every year. Bottom line, the organisers can hire who the fuck they want and punters will still show up in droves. Literally thousands of acts from all manner of genres perform over the course of a typical weekend that discerning individuals who know their own minds can choose from instead of wasting time on someone they dislike. It's not rocket science.

Also, an interesting thing about Glastonbury is how preconceptions can be quickly overturned. For example, the Stevie Wonder performance was smarmy and awkward. Neil Young's was selfish and dull - probably he should have just wanked for ninety minutes because at least there would be some comedy value. Frankly, I've never been able to listen to tracks by either in the same way again. In contrast, when Beyonce sang Single Ladies, it was one of the best atmospheres at a gig I've ever experienced. She worked really hard, made a concerted effort to connect with the audience and they in turn went absolutely fucking mental.

Lots of people enjoy what Kanye West does. I think he's fucking shit myself, but I'm quite content to let them get on with it. You and others who signed that petition fail to appreciate the irony of decrying someone on self-absorption grounds while feeding that same fire by making such a hoohar about it. Did someone say "sheep"...? Emily Eavis isn't going to change her mind, you fools. I'd put money on the fact that "almost the whole festival" didn't sign that petition at all, and instead it's a combination of insufferable snobs, internet trolls and self-hating Kanye fans with no lives that are probably jealous they didn't get a ticket. Your puny efforts are no match for the lack of fucks the rest of us give.
 
when I went to glasto back in 1997 the ONLY people there were hippies and indie kids.

these days its just full of kids that WANT to watch kanye.

As much as I don't want him there, I'm sure the majority of the people who will go want to see him.

That is why I won't be signing.

I bet there will be 80k+ people watching him.
