I'm realatively new to the mixing side of psytrance too. I'd been mixing on and off for about a year on my mate's decks, learning the basics of beat matching and setting precise cue ponts etc, and a few weeks ago I got me own pair of decks at uni - YAY!
So yeah.. any specific tips about EQ twiddling and the suchlike?

Cheers.

Wouldn't worry too much about the EQing to begin with.

Get the beats locked first.

I've worked with plenty of DJs who don't ever touch the EQs!

I mainly use the bass EQ when mixing with the cross-fader. Mids and tops can be useful, but only if there's clashes in there. Especially a problem if the track has heavy groove and the hi-hats clash in a weird way. You should be able to hear that while cueing though.
