if i use logic as my writing platform and my digi002 as my mixing, mastering and editing platform, how do i go easily from one format into the next? as i have already considered universal track mode the problem lies in finding the easiest way to record vox and still have my track half written in logic. i jump from os 9 -X for logic/protools alternation as logic 6 does not have enough available plug ins or reliability yet. should i be recording in 24BIT? any hints greatly appreciated xXx

Can't see the point in using Pro-Tools LE at all really - I would stay in Logic and do everything in there. If you have the disk space/disk speed then I would recommend using 24 bit.

Didn't know you had a 002. What made you buy that - have you been at the Evo Stik again?

thanks for that o so helpful gem my sweet. i guess i should be more specific. let us say hypothetically that
I stick to logic for pretty much everything but a pro tools dimension is open to me, provided that i maintain universal track mode. the 002 means that I can combine writing styles, provided i can find an tidy way to cross platforms... Also will be a protools operator 210p in five months and should really know my shit...
or will i?;)x

Pro-Tools is really quite intuitive - and probably quite good for mixing with as the Bomb Factory plugins are pretty good and PT automation is smooth.

Check your manual to see if you have a Logic Import function - i doubt it but yu never know.

Otherwise you can probably export from Logic as an "Open TL" project and import into PT.

You could always bring it round and I'll show yu how - wouldn't mind playing with your Digi for an hour.

I was under the impression a little gadget called "Emagic TDM System Bridge" let you route Logic's mixer channels right into the Pro Tools audio engine (and/or vice versa) - sorta like rewire I suppose.

Using neither Logic nor Pro-Tools , my knowledge goes no further... something to google for at least

Only works on TDM systems. The Digi002 is an ASIO/WDM thing with no TDM function.

Oh yes got distracted........24 bit, 96 khz all the way, see if you can wangle any of the waves plugins for Pro Tools from somewhere. Expensive but they rock :)

What? What? No, of course I haven't, anyway, what if I did? It's not illegal, happens to everyone, doesn't it and anyway, it's a purely physical reaction...
