MIDI chain dilema

Any suggestions how to link my sound card midi in/out to the master keyboard and the virus in a way that the keyboard will send signals to the cubase midi ports in and out and the virus both receives and sends midi data to cubase as well.

Keyboard has midi in/out/thru
Virus has also midi in/out/thru
soundcard has only midi in/out

the keyboard will need only to send data to control everything, the virus I need it to receive but also to send data so to record the knobs to the midi tracks into cubase.

I tried many options but no luck :sad:

As far as I know, unless the Virus has a MIDI merge mode which passes any MIDI received to its output, it can't be done with only one MIDI in port on the PC and no other boxes. You need a MIDI merger or another MIDI interface. Both can be had pretty cheap.

I'm about to give the midi interface away together with the computer. I think I'll keep the midi interface. Thought there was a way around it without the interface. Toght wrong then!
