Has anyone on the forum ever used / own a numark DXM 01 mixer ?? Are they any good ...?

cheers.

No, I'd avoid most Numark products like the plague!!! I haven't used any of there new equipment but my experiance of them has been pretty dire. They don't last very long (the faders are rubbish) and feel cheap and tacky.

If money's tight, I'd advise going on ebay and buying a quality 2nd hand mixer, a mate of mine recently bought a Vestax PCV-275 in good condition for £150

To be fair Numark havent got the best reputation but i've never had any problems myself. If fact the Numark Axis 8's I had were great, dead relaible, with more effects and features than the CDJ-100's with a smaller price tag.

The only mixer of theirs i've used didnt feel all that nice, was functional but felt plasticy, this one looks much nicer but i'd pop into a dealer and ask to use it first. Most important thing about a mixer is that it suits you and your style, I prefer everything to be pretty firm and not be to loose but then sratch DJ's love that sorta feel.

I've been looking around and mixers and now have my heart set on the new DJM 1000's, check out the link below. They are luuurvly!

yeah...............heard that...i very rarely play out ne more......might start doing chill out.........in between being an escort......lecturing and being a kung fu kickin crime fighting dog

well the mixer i,ve asked the forum about is an ebay job , at a nice price as well , so i,m hoping it,ll be ok. My cd decks are Numarks and havent been a problem so far - the main reason i,m going to the dxm ( apart from digital recordings ) is the kill switches are reportedly better , my kills at the moment are a bit "poppy" . I,ve gotta be honest , i must get the practice in.........psy isnt the easiest vibes to mix , but my skills need a polish ( and a kick up the jacksee )

come on postie - bring me my mixer .

I've got a 500 too, Steve & Mickey... How long have you had yours?? Mines pretty damn old and I've gotten a lot of use out if it, but lately I've found my bass pots acting up!! have you had any similar problems and do oyu know how I could fit it??

Give the pot a clean with some switch cleaner. Prob best to remove the front plate to do it. I've done a few 500 repairs, some of the connectors on the rear output board fracture their solder because its not very well supported on the right hand side and flexes when you plug stuff in/out.

Avoid the new Numarks as they no longer make their own. Some of the old ones were ok mixers like the dm1100x but the new ones aren't much good.

I've had a number of cheaper mixers over the years and all have failed or performed poorly in one way or another. I've got a DJM600 now and apart from the output levels i really like it and its still like new despite getting used for hires and abuse by techno DJ's on a regular basis

Get an Ecler mixer (Spanish company), that's all I gotta say. VERY good build quality, friendly support, looks cool, you'll be cool too as they are a bit more rare. I got the Ecler Smac First, and it's one of the most narrow three channel high quality mixers I've seen. Had it for seven years now with no problems. The faders could do with a replacement, but this will happen on any mixer. Avoid Numark, you will have problems. All people I know who has one have had fader problems earlier on. Well, your choice, depends how much you wanna spend.

And why do people always swear by Pioneer mixers? There's so many other great brands out there. OK, they make great CD players, but look around a bit for some innovative mixers, support the minority. Otherwise we'll only have Pioneer to choose from.
