Mosanto has done it again..

Yeah it's shitty that they seem to be getting off lightly, but if you read further you might be pleased to find out that it isn't as rosy as you think over at Monsanto. :D  :D

The world's biggest manufacturer of genetically modified (GM) crops, US company Monsanto, has been haemorrhaging money.

It's had to close plants and facilities in Europe in the last year and to drop its plans for GM Wheat.

Monsanto retreats from Europe
They're still not doing well financially either, net loss and earnings (loss) per share: Monsanto recorded a first-quarter fiscal year 2005 net loss of $40 million, or $(0.15) per share.

For me it's a real pleasure to read through a company like this' annual reports and press releases and see that they actually list public opposition as the reason for them dropping GM wheat lines and pulling out of some of their bases of operation. Kinda shows that all the protesting, while it may seem inneffectual at the time, can actually have a good and positive outcome.

Yep, it shows that if enough people raise awareness and refuse to buy their stuff - they are stuffed. Ben and Jerrys have just won against monsanto who didn't want them to label their icecream gm free in case it reminded shoppers to check their labels. Cheeky buggers!
