Hey peeps, I'm sure quite a lot of you use iTunes for your music. Well so do I, but I allowed it to organise my music collection because I was lazy, but now I wanna put all my music back into genres instead of artist folders.....does anyone know any software that's good for organising MP3's and MP4's ?

2nd question, does iTunes edit ID3 tags when you edit song info or not ?

1st Answer: Stop using iTunes. It's a piece of shit with a memory footprint like Godzilla. Assuming you're using Windows, change to Winamp or FooBar. Do you actually want to change the layout of the data on your drives or just sort your music by genre? If it's the former, download mp3-tag studio. If it's the latter, click on the genre column in iTunes/whatever.

2nd Answer: Yes. Couldn't tell you what version though.

Thanks a lot man, exactly the answers I was looking for

I'm using itunes and i know it's crap, but it's got a user-friendly GUI, and i have an ipod, so it's just easier to use itunes..... I actually wanted to organise the files into folders that were labelled with the different genres, so that it's easier to navigate them when I'm not using a media player to look through the library.

Thanks for the info mate :Smile3:

Winamp supports iPods. It's usually a bit faster too. Only downer at the moment is album art isn't working if you have one of the fancy colour ones.
