hello peeps.....
this is my first ever attepmt at making something that rometley resembles music!!
its an abmbient/chilled track with some really calming vocals that i found.... they are spiritual Indian chants and they really really chill me out....
n e way some constructive crtisism would be really usefull, as i need advice on how to make my music properly good and professional....
here is the link to download the entire track (sorry its in only 128kbps)

thanks....
;)

its starting to look like my "i cant be bothered to sign up (and doubtless get endless spam from soundclick as a result) just to download a track" policy is going to have to get scrapped, cos it seems every track posted here is on soundclick!

Not that I am an expert or anything but I think this track needs a lot of work. It seems to me that almost all the sounds you introduce don't work with the rest of the track and the noise thing that starts at 4:45 kills me. So it sounds like a bunch of sounds stuck toghter rather than one piece of music and the bassline gets a bit grating after a while.

If this is the first track you have made, it isn't too bad but if this is the first track you have made that you think is good then you like me have a long way to go.

Good effort though.

Is it possible to post direct links to the tracks? :)

Soliptic:

as a soundclick person thingy, I don't get any spam from them. I found this surprising and suspicious, but two months later and i'm still not getting any... this might be coz i have a 'band' though. I dunno what it'd be like for a listener, hadn't even thought of that.

Ummm... Well, there are some interesting moments. For a first track everything seems to be hanging together quite nicely, which leads me to think sample CD's???? I'm not sure about the whole Poly-Tonal nature of it either. I reckon staying in one key probably the way to go, at least whilst you are still learning the ropes. But, there is plenty of reason not to give up hope! I reckon you might have quite a good ear for things in the mix, as most of your levels seem about right.

hey guys ... thanks for yr reviews of the track....
:)
eMpTy-1 - thanks for the review.... i no that the track needs a lot of work... and i have a very very long way to go.... hopefully my next one will fit together a bit better.... but this really was my very first track..... thanks again

Speakafreaka - i will definately keep in mind the whole staying in one key thing for my next track..... and hopefully it will sound better and more "professional" than this one.....
about the sample cd's .... almost all the sounds on the track are off a virus rack that i was able to buy off a freiend... along with some VSTi's and fruity loops... i dont really own any sample cd's... but could u maybe suggest some sample cd's that are fairly cheap that i could get vocals off???
thanks for the review....

more reviews are more than welcome ppl........

thanks....
keep smiling
:D

Double_Helix - hey .... thanks a lot.... :D
um i used cubase sx for the track... and some of the VSTi's that come along with it...along with the othe stuff mentioned .....
keep smiling
:D

Hey Lucid, just heard your track and i think it's a wonderful first effort. Keep at it ;)

thank u very much 52DSL !!!
i really appreciate u taking the effort to listen to my track....
thanks....
take care.........
:D

Not a bad attempt for a first track.

My thought are:

The melodies seemed to clash quite a bit a sounded quite cold at points

The Bassline could do with a bit more variation.

The panning was chopping about everywhere and made me feel a littel sick. I say use it a bit more sparingingly.

:)

The Phonographist : thanks for the review.....
i agree about the panning ... i think i really did over do it there.....
and the melodies.... i didnt really pay attention to the keys in which i wrote them so.... definately will pay a lot more attention to that the next time around.....
again thanks for the review......
hope fully my next track will turn out a lot better .....
:D
take care.......

Hi Rohit,
these sounds are great. Nice landscapes. The bell in the middle has to be tuned in. Try to pitch it a few semitones up or down and it will fit. You also have to have a look at your bass line. The part where the vocals and the bass line are duett the bass line makes its own thing and the vocals too. Maybe changing the timing (not speed) will set it up. Trying to introduce sounds is also a good idea. That means the loop starts not at 1st beat of the bar but at the 3rd or 4th in the last preceding bar. Listen to the bass line in my track. You will see what I mean.
For your first track it is quiet good. Do not stop making music, you will become better, maybe the best.

yes i have to admit theres no real harmony to the structure, tho its a good effort for a first track... the sounds werent bad, they were just played completely at the wrong times and in the wrong melodies. the instruments werent bad at all, keep developing those melodies. some nice tricks, but not used to the maximum. i liked the revvy beat, did u really make that youself?! i have to admit the production is suspiciously good for a first track...
the most important thing is that you keep working on new stuff, my first track sucked and i wanted to give up, but i stuck with it and now things are better... just keep up the hard work, and dont forget, you get out what you put in, every time. :sun:

hello......
thank u for yr review......
i just got home after a smashing time in england.....the glade being the highlight....
and i' gonna start something new very soon .....
i will definately keep in mind what uve said about the structure and melodies and hopefully something better will come up this time...
about the beat i did make it by my self..i used fruity loops.
thanks . . . .
take it easy
:D
