i have just found a huge interest with the progressive stuff, theres just the problem of not knowing many artists or labels.. i love the plastik park and iboga stuff.

the harder the better

can anyone give us some help at all ?

hadshot.....hard prog
sphere
organic
if u dont mind older stuff mdma....'the jokers files', 'plug in' etc and atomic b4 they disappeared!!
stuff like skazi and exaile seem to me to be very(!) hard prog in format at least
aaaahhhhhhh brainlock................ :mushrooms: !!!!

Hey another convert! :punk:

Shall I add Tegma from Digital Structures, Antix (Iboga), or Motion Generator V/A from Flow Recs?

Oh yeah, and Shiva Chandra last 2 releases (at least!), just brilliant!

Paul: Acetate, Silver planet?More info please!

Some other progressive artists I like erm...phoney orphants, genetic spin, auricular, paste, klangbilderzeuger...

Another label that hasn't been mentioned with some nice stuff is Interzone records ;)

There are a couple of great compilations out on domo records too. Some great cream crop compilations as well :) The first necton album is pure genius as well...

I find most of my progressive by randomly listening through choonz on http://www.chaosunlimited.co.uk and then buying them :) Found some total shite this way but have also found some GENIUS compilations and albums this way B)

I've listened the other day some samples from Interzone Vol 2 and was way amazed!
Def next on my shopping list! :dito:

What do u reckon about Cosmophilia Vol2 btw?

all the plusquasm comps are very nice, especially Widescreen. Check stuff by Sensient, Native Radio, Traktor Schallbor new compilation "Royal Rumble" is a good 1. oh and you will probably like the new Database compilation "Session 2.2" cos it's nice an 'ard innit ;)

Recent jaw-droppers :o :

Sonic Cube, Antix - lull, Sensient - Blue neevus (Tatsu), XV Kilist - Alfa Aroma (Spiral Trax), Path of Pathos (Candyflip), anything by Sun Control Species and the absolute masterpiece from last year Segment -01 album (ZMA)

Hehe finally people are catching on to proggy! Theres so much depth in those tunes if you just allow yourself to 'infiltrate' those sounds...

Blue Neevus is the debut album of the young but very talented Australian psytrance act Sensient. Its out on tatsu one of my favorite prog albums of this year phat chunkey grooves :punk: :punk: :partysmi:

lovin' the Sensient album !! It rocks !!!

yeah i had a similar realisation about progressive music over the last 6 months. It kind of crept up on me whilst i wasn't looking  . Didn't used to be a fan but am now getting into the minimal thang. Am liking Segment, Echotek and a compilation of JumJam called Beatport One. I think its a couple of years old but theres some good stuff on it.

I believe that there is anew XV Klist album out that might be worth a look as well.

i only got into prog beginning of the year but now i really cant listen to full on...it's just too fast and far too noisy....very unstylish :D

p.s. XV Kilist has released a new EP as well as the album which is absolutely killer. on the reverse is a mighty fine remix by Bitmonx too. oh speaking of which, Bitmonx is killer but for some bizzare reason they don't have an album...fingers crossed for 2004.

p.p.s. BEATPORT 1 !!! wow that compilation is great, there's a track that makes me reach for my Ray Ban's an ride like Maverick

depends on what style you play though innit?

i was a serious proghead for a while and then it just got too housey housey and coke fuelled, or too minimal. it's started to grow on me again, but i still like my sleek psy-trance.

granted there is a lot of super full on stuff that just does my head in but to call it unstylish is a wee bit...well snobbish really.

muahahahahhaaaa it's true, i am a snob. unsophisticated and unstylish is the only way to describe *most* full on these days. of course it's still all good but as forgotten says, nothing has really changed. now where has the style and class gone if *nearly* all full on producers are recycling the same old sounds??

but yes, essentially i am a snob when it comes to music B)
