Newbz, innit!

Hah. Came here to say the same thing. Massive and Surge were my go-to synths, but recently I upgraded my DAW (from 32-bit Cubase 5 to 64-bit Cubase 10) and the first thing I did was get Vital. Literally on the first day of getting it has become my go-to synth. The text-to-wavetable and Shepard tone features are boss; plus it has such a clean sound!

You can literally use the built-in synths that likely came with your DAW. Synths schmynths. It's how you program it.
You should be able to dial-up any sort of sound you hear in any electronica within 1-5 minutes from a default setting of some kind.
That can be resolved in a few months of training doodling around with synths.
First learn your signal flow/routing. Learn about signal vs control paths. Modulation sources and sinks. LFO's and envelopes, etc...
Then learn about oscillator modulation and side-bands and how to generate them in different frequency magnitudes. (FM, AM, Ring-Mod, all your fun stuff)
and about a week later you will no longer be amazed by any psy anything, lol.
Then it's back to using it musically...
