I've started spinning quite recently, having been using Diablo for a little while, I go to Hampstead Heath and Queens woods in north london to spin and generally hang out. :smokingr:

I am swiftly becoming addicted to my poi and day by day I hit myself less in the nuts so things are all good.

I've played with the stick of devilishness a bit in the past, have recently taken to spinin poi.... T'was exam time, I didn't wanna revise. I found looooots of time for poi..... Have contructed many a pair, also have some veeeeery nice glow/strobe poi http://www.firetoys.co.uk/cgi-bin/acatalog/Balls_U_Like_glo_poi.html V trippy, Grok will vouch for 'em! My latest contruction - sock poi in wicked orange and black stripes with weighted holdy bits so they spin evenly when you throw 'em... Haven't quite got the technique down yet tho.

Can anyone do a true 7 beat? I've seen it done but didn't get chance to fully examine (it involves wrapin arms fully around each other!), apperently its easier in reverse...
    Any ideas?

I think Stix may have mentioned the same type of glowing poi that you use Raja and yes they are very nice. Especially the facts that they have really quite a nice glow/light effect to them, but without weighing as much as Aerotech or being as uncompromisingly solid as Beaming Poi. I'd go so far as to say that they are one of the few good glow-poi type set-ups that you could actually safely recommend to a beginner.

    Not that I'm suggesting you're a beginner Raja! :P

Oh and Raja just to get you primed then seen as you've put weights in your handles...

going into an isolation spinning pattern on one side of your body give both poi an extra little flick and throw them across your front so that they still move together in the isolation pattern past you and then catch them and continue facing the other way :Wink3:

Have been meaning to get hold of my own Poi for a while and finally did at Boom. Yay!

They're great. My small mind can be kept happily occupied for ages.

In fact it gets occupied for longer daily as i hit myself across the head/face/kneecaps regularly and the saw dust flies out. (not the kneecaps  )

    Lots of bruises now

i play with fire everyday and my life is truly enlightened through that practice. I have learned that contrary to some ppls beleifs, that men can't perform two tasks at the same time, they can! i've also learned the value of a tub of parrafin in the boot of the car, and also that setting ones self on fire truly is fun (until it really really burns you.) oh yeah and that fire breathing really sucks and shouldnt be tried when stoned (spent two weeks in hospital because of that) :excessiv: :bananada: :clubjump: :punk: :gonnasta:

theres nothin like goin out into your garden in the middle of the night, stickin on some psy-trance or hrd house, light up and spin

i started when i was about 8 when i saw some shoa lin monks doing it i thought 'ooo thas cool' so started usin strings with tennis balls tied to the ends, and played ninjas (a very cool game btw, everyone should play)
then i stopped for about 10 years cos i thought of it as just a game, but i started clubbin in london and bought some glo sticks........the rest is history

been fucking around with poi on and off for a year or so....

    i'm not very good.

My boyfriend is a bugger if a fast learner, he is already better than me, i taught him everything i know in a week and now he is better than me.

And he bought some flag poi, which are by far the coolest things i have ever seen.
