Erm... my love affair with dance music began in 1996 with Chemical Soup in Lancaster, promoting its brand of 'liquid electronic street funk' in fine and friendly style. Anyone in the north west remember the Midland Hotel parties in Morecambe? A great art-deco building right by the sea. Discovered psy trance about 3 years later in London, through the expert guidance of some climbing mates who put on a great party at Mile End Climbing Wall. Then they took me to see Eat Static at The Brixton Academy. I walked through the doors and into the huge main space to be greeted by the most beautiful sound, a tribal female vocal reaching up to the rafters and down to the depths of my soul.
