i've been looking for a tool to do this (or insert between locators) but nothing does what i want - even by doing 'select everything right of locator' and then moving it doesn't work (which is hassle enough if something overlaps the point you want to insert bars at) - main problem is it tends to move all my parts, but leave all the automation behind!

anyone?

Cubase is helpful that way, isn't it?

ok, related question (probably (hopefully) destined for Mr OOOD since he seems to know everything about cubase!).

When you select everything In Loop for example, it selects all the parts and automation, but sometimes also selects points of automation which are outside of the loop. Makes sense in a way because that point defines the position of your automation, but if you the copy and paste, there are all these annoying bits of automation poking out from the selection! I read about a "trim" command that might be what I want, which is supposedly on the toolbar, but for the life of me I can't find it...

cheers!

'Trim' is an automation write mode, and is used for globally adjusting the fader automation between the left and right markers. Unfortunately it's not what you're looking for.
