SOAD - Memorize

Now I love System of a Down, I think their first two albums and the B-sides were great. A mixture of fun stuff and politcally tinted stuff done in a nice fresh crazy style. Bounce is a classic go mad tune.

However, the new album is such pants. For starters its only 36min long, who makes an album that short, I know its the first part of a two-part but come on I want more for my money. The lyrics are so bad, they seem to have aimed it at 14yr olds who love toilet humour. The political edge just seems vacant. And why do they like singing about Hollywood so much. There are some good moments but they are few and far between.

Now I know there are a lot of SOAD fans on this board so I want to know if you agree or not.

I enjoyed the album though.... Its playing at the mo! (track: Radio/Video)

Bit disappointed that its so short... but their albums have always been short though, so I was kind of expecting it.

It kicks the pants off of Steal This Album.

Mate, the best album I ever bought is only 32 minutes long and only has 4 tunes. Its called drudkh - autumn aurora and is an absolute experience of an album! Best £10 i spent! Though i totally see your point -From system you'd expect alot more!

Albums aside I've seen SOAD twice live and they kick some ass, not sure about them playing such large venues, sound may get lost, esp at the MEN arena where I'm seeing em soon.

Love the new album.
Crammed to the gills with humour
the sell out album that doesn't.
They are playing with you
and poking their tounge out when your not looking.

And to top it all they rock like fuck.

Memorize is self-satire taken too far, I agree they have a brain between them, several at that but they need to take a lesson from Manson on self-parady, he came back from almost going to full-on cheese.
