Back to the M-audio thing again.

It does piss me off that Ott gets 8 driver updates a year for his 20 year-old Gina's whereas in that time, the drivers that came with my Maudio card are still the latest ones.

Seems to be an issue with Maudio cards if you are using AMD boards with VIA chipsets. I've trawled the net long and hard looking for solutions to my problems, and this combination crops up time and time again.

I currently have quite an early Asus board with a VIA northbridge and AMD southbridge (or the other way around) and plugging a USB midi controller in gives me major headaches in the old snap crackle and pop department.

This is true for both the Delta 44 (that currently sits on the shelf) and the 410's that I use now, which isn't surprising since they all use the same drivers.

Using an SB card for the midi used to give me no trouble, but I don't have it any more.

Saving hard for a new board at the moment. I pray for the day that I get a trouble free system that'll just sit there and work.
