they suceed, will control our freedom in cyberspace

That's fine. The TCPA platforms and software will stagnate due to lack of innovation and competition. The US will completely lose it's leading edge in technological development and the rest of the world will switch to Linux, and to developing with Linux, which will surge ahead as the best creative brains build the software we want without the licensing restrictions they want...

In a world where information is power - keeping it locked in a safe is a sure way to losing it.

Put that together with the pressure to use "network computing", and things start to look grim, indeed.

"Don't use your own PC, use our internet-based supercomputer engine, then you only need what amounts to a network terminal, which is much cheaper than all that processing power you don't really use. (what we don't tell you, is we then know everything you are doing, and can monitor not only your network traffic, but your processing, too.)"

Mr Martin is right IMO... open-source will triumph. As long as there are computers, there will be hackers and crackers, and hackers and crackers are always one step ahead of software developers.

Am I the only person who thinks that it is infact the software companies who distribute all the viruses and hacking threats to scare us into buying their over-priced software?
