So - you've been working on your tune for 5 weeks and you're piss bored with it.

It keeps sounding too slow or too fast or just crap.

But you know there must be something in it otherwise you wouldn't have wasted your time doing it in the first place. You're too close to it and you've forgotten what you were originally trying to say.

Post it here and revel in the positive observations of your friends.

This is not a place for technical appraisal. Its not a place to go "I really don't like it - its shit." That isn't the point.

Mutual support and encouragement is the name of the game and your task is to pick out the bits that you like and heap glowing praise on them whilst simply ignoring the bits you don't like.

Get the idea?

im sure its utterly amazing and youre just getting bored with sitting in front of the same loop for the millionst time... ;)

eat a choc cookie and drink a glass of milky...the world will then just be bliss again!

Come on then Ott - bung it up. ;)

Ok I just did a very rough mixdown of what I am working on right now but now I gotta find somewhere to upload it.

Very nice Sol. So funky and relaxing. I don't much know what else to add other than it is right up my alley and most definately would be music I would buy.

Mmmkay here is an extremely rough mix of the track I am working on now. I essentially just bussed everything out to my mixer and then recorded a stereo mix. I've only compressed the bassline minimally and nothing else and have done very little EQwork, etc.

It isn't very long, once the beat drops out and it is just bassline, that is where I am in terms of trying to find a direction to take:

Echoes

Edit: Oh, and I just did a quick normalize in sound forge when converting to mp3 because I didn't feel like doing any real level setting. :D
Edit2: It should be working again now. Server was apparently down. By the way I would be extremely happy to have critisism or advice as well if you want to pm me to keep this thread bursting with joy and positivity.

soliptic and reconstructed, downloading now

ok this is something i am supposed to be perfoming semi live at my college in a month so im desperately trying to get it finished (some parts are pretty much done, some parts need a lot of work) and ive never done a live performance before so this thread will help my confidence with it somewhat hehe.
also this is the first time i have ever used my own voice in a tune so i dont know if its gonna work.

Dude - that's bang on IMO.

Who's that on the bass? The groove on that is just insane! :D

Oh and the middle section's got me thinking of 'Rio' by Duran Duran - not necessarily a bad thing, promise... certainly nice and leftfield! :)
