The Power of Nightmares starts on BBC2 at 9pm on Wednesday October 20.

The making of the terror myth

Since September 11 Britain has been warned of the 'inevitability' of catastrophic terrorist attack. But has the danger been exaggerated? A major new TV documentary claims that the perceived threat is a politically driven fantasy - and al-Qaida a dark illusion....

Could be quite good.

Yeah, I knew that ... I read Orwell's "1984" when I was about 14.

I've decided to just ignore any of their crap. I decided that when you see the Bush administration moving their mouths it's time to change channel just too depressing to watch - I trained myself to fancy Condaleeza Rice as a diversion ... which is kind of scary too!

Yes well, there is always the danger ( particulary in "here" ) of preaching to the converted, eh ?

I have always prefered the " Know Thy Enemy " approach, but each to his own !

Yes, I'm looking ofrward to this. Not because I expect it to teach me reams of stuff that I had no idea of previously, but because of my hope that it will reach the masses and teach them a few things, if they can prise their eyes from the copies The daily hate for just a minuite.

Oh and....
I trained myself to fancy Condaleeza Rice as a diversion
Wrong didley wrong wrong... ::cry::

When the Enemy just repeats the same shit to whatever question asked - there's not much more to know ...

I know, it started as a joke - then went badly wrong. In defence: she's got a nice body ...

Mmmm ...

She's got a PhD in Political Science and the ear of the President, she's black and from a poor background and yet she's a republican - that's complex and I know I haven't fathomed her out from afar - and yet all you can say is "she's got a nice body..." :???????? :o

When are you next on 'Question Time'?

Did I not mention I have a carefully cultivated minimalist attention span ?
Besides, I expect all women I fancy to be fantastically intelligent, powerful and intriguing ... well at least for the next five minutes or so!

What were we talking about again ?

Mmm ... coffee :)

I was reminded of this thread when reading this article in Asia times earlier....
Fairly long, but worth the read....

An exerpt
"Zarqawi" is much like a movie. Fake leg or not, return of the living dead or not, he is everywhere. American corporate media do not even bother to examine all the holes in the story. Who cares? Without Zarqawi, the Bush administration would have to painfully admit that the Iraqi resistance is a national liberation struggle. With Zarqawi, the administration can parrot to oblivion the line that Iraq is in the frontline of the "war on terror".

great program frusrating viewing tho

vote yes to punching donald rumsfeld on his big fat lying nose(then maybe kick him in the face a few times while he's down and then danc the merry jig like this :partysmi: on his prone body yipeeee)
