hey guys on travels i visited this power station and it was wicked i found the website and thought some of you bloody hippies might be interested.

they have the coolest air conditioning system

Nimbin rocks!!!!!

Very good - but its taken some time to catch up with these communities:
http://www.esf.edu/efb/turner/research/gasxchng.htm#structure

and the wonderful thing about them is that they are a classic example of chaos theory at work - that is , the idea of 'attractors' one finds in chaos theory:
ok, the termites start to bring detritus, leaves, etc together in little mounds and the pheremones ar left on the little piles everywhere. Then, other termites carrying their debris are attracted to certain piles and one large termite mound slowly evolves because one pile is more attractive than another - so the mound is a very good example of an attractor in nature.

Furthermore, one can actually crawl INSIDE a termite mound and down into their air-conditioning system: the termites excavate an air-conditioning system/cavern approximately 6 feet under the ground/mound and the cooler air circulates and eventually meets the warmer air at the suface - thus keeping the colony and mound cool. Very very cool :Smile3:

Presumably they don't have problems with Legionnaires disease as happens with anthropic/human constructed buildings air-conditioning systems

Hey, the termites have got nothing on this project: http://www.enviromission.com.au/index1.htm

It's another completely clean energy source being developed in Oz, and looks very impressive.
It uses solar energy to heat air which rushes up a huge (and I mean huge) chimney to generate electricity via windpower.
Check out the video on the main page.

Wow! :?

EnviroMission looks incredible! Imagine the shotguns you could toke on that thing!
