Well, i guess should post official info sheet then :D

Tikal is the trance project of 2 brothers from France, Manuel and Vincent Bernal. Both of them have a guitarist/percussionist background and they moved to writing electronic music 4 years ago.
Their music is melodic groovy morning stuff, perfect for outdoor parties. It's a fresh new style with new ideas and lot of unusual samples and sounds and strong ethnical and tribal elements.
Their debut album, Ritual Cycle, released on Neurobiotic Records, was one of the most successful albums of 2004. Since then, they played all over the world including France, Italy, Japan, Germany, Brazil, Sweden, Denmark, Russia, England, Belgium and Switzerland performing in some of the most important events worldwide such as Full Moon Festival in Germany and Universo Paralello in Brazil.
During this time, Tikal released tracks on some of the most important labels around such as Spirit Zone, Nano Records, Dragonfly and Mind Control always receiving huge feedbacks from trancers around the world.
This new album features 10 tracks in the typical Tikal style, full of feelings and emotions. 8 dancefloor friendly tracks, including a remix of the famous Silicon Sound track “the Shell†and a crazy Brazilian interlude that culminates in an almost acoustical Tequila sunrise will bring the listener to a colourful and peaceful journey ending with 2 downtempo/chill out tracks.
This summer they will perform at the Full Moon Festival again, being voted in the last edition as one of the best live acts, and at Sonica Festival in Italy, one of the biggest events of the summer.

why dude?

they aren't all that.

just buy a bamboo forest cd instead, same difference.

I rekon MP Records will take until at least 2010 to release the next Bamboo Forest CD, although I hear you Mr 5, Bamboo are still the ones!

In the Mean time....

Anyone been listening to this one then!

I think it cool, not many on there for putting in a dj set, in fact I don't think I could get away with any of them, apart from maybe "Welcome" which is a solid opener, with not to many quirky happenings...

But for an album to put on, its good fun, loadsa of guitar samples, some jazz funk expertly inserted into a four four beat, in Cher Amis. Acres of Sunshine Music in Tequila, with loadsa real instruments flying off....

The Silicon Sound Shell Remix is phat, slightly spoilt for me, by an unneccesary guitar...

Its kind of a bit Funky Salsa (Think Shpongleitus), 80s pop synths, with some eclectic electric guitar moments and recognisable samples, all to a solid trance back bone! :lol1:

Not scared of having fun, and pokes fun at itself... I really enjoyed this for an escape from the confines of some Psy Trance! Be warned this is not that serious, Its fun and funky, and sometimes it goes too far (way too far), But I was up for the ride, with a smile on my face and a giggle here and there. Great Summer Time Music, Checking them at Sonica!:sun:

if you are after regular Psy Trance beats perhaps look elsewhere.

(Disclaimer: Be aware, I love Eat Static Crash and Burn CD, one fo my favs, big time, which if anybody knows it, is full of crazy brass, funky salsa, and other random moments...):jump:

"some jazz funk expertly inserted into a four four beat, in Cher Amis."

sounds potential wkd - Void had a track with a bit of trumpet sampling in there - think it was track 2 on the album - unfortunately the track turned out to be shit but if theyd developed that i think it would have been realyl cool.
hopefully this makes use of it.. :)

sorry for the explosion, cant believe sil s gave them the file! further can't belive they put guitar in such a bomb, anyway i havent heard it so will shut up! sorry!

track 8 - tequila sunrise is pretty damn funky and wkd - am with geoff generally - i think things which sound a bit different / with live instruments thrown in may be a bit cheesy but its so nice to here someone thinking outside the box a little

No I can understand your shock horror, to be honest the original is super slick, and this version definetly does not need the guitar, they have lost the slickness and made it far too cut up...
Its less of a remix and more of an original track....

So U R correct, to be stunded\shocked!!! ;) Bad Move Johannes...

Exactly, so it gets a bit cheesy, but it is fun and different!! ;)

Generally I'm loving this album. Didn't like the first track at all, not into tracks that disect their parts with a narrator. The rest of the random stuff inserted into some quality tracks is very good though. I love the shell remix. I'm mostly with Geoff's opinions.

Can't wait for the Sonica appearance :)

I mostly like it...although I don't like the guns n roses(?) guitar when it appears I think its Guns n Roses anyway...that sucks! Liking the whole kinda latino/brazilian sounding stuff that goes on in there in parts also some really pleasant female vocal stuff in there (in small amounts) which I liked...really nice sunny music....bit like a CARNIVAL! ;) :p would definately imagine dancing round to some of it in the morning! :)
