henry (kamaflage) progressive top ten.
1. Petter- 'Twist Moet' (Deep recordings)
Deep techy twist up. Serious night time track for missbehaving raving.
2. Fretwell- 'Silky Dirty' (Barroque)
Nice to see fretwell back to the 4/4 and a continuation of Barroque's fine run of form.
3. Avus- 'Fancy Arse (holden rmx)' (perc trax)
Minimal techno turns into border community washed out bliss. More night time antics from the BC crowd.
4. Nathan Fake- 'The Sky Was Pink (holden rmx)' (Border community)
Much warmer than the previous track. More like the MFA single which I liked so much earlier in the year.
5. Pete Lazonby- 'Sacred Cycles (richard K 2004 rmx)' (Hooj)
You do the maths. Sexy and huge with lots of cheeky brighton twists and turns. As upfront as a page 3 stunner (nikkala T 21).
6. Greed- 'no title given' (feedme records)
Tobi at his best. The grinding from mikrocosmos mixed with the trance of city lights and a big breaksy intro. Naughty track. Sorry about the lack of title but I think its a vinyl release this autumn.
7. Tieferschwartz & Eric D'Clark- 'Blow (dub mix)' (DJ Gigolo)
Guilty pleasures. I always felt he was over rated but I liked the spektrum remixes and am coming round to this guy's sound. This is not his best work but the synths in the main section are huge.
8. Booka Shade- 'Memento' (Get physical)
Deep and moody minimal electro. M.A.N.D.Y. are away doing freeform five mixes (alright for some)and This guy supplies the label with superior sounds in the meantime.
9. Mass Turbo- 'Sin Sinati' (unsigned)
These guys are the reason why no one goes to Poland. Deep chugging acid prog to make you want to sit down or dance for ever.
10. Abakus vs Youth- 'Spiritual Being' (Liquid Sound Design)
My favourite track by either artist. They seem to compliment eachother so well. Lighting up the abakus live set and many DJ sets over the summer. Sounds like Joy Division, Erelend Oye, and The Orb having a bath together on 2CB.
p.s. I'm not saying you would but if you were going to say that this was all mainstream nonsense I would point out the presence of people from:
bigwigs, nada, dubtrees, purple, and one of the original boom festival organisers.
as I say I know you wouldn't but trivia rules.
