That's no1 for me!

thank you for such a fine suggestion btw; can't believe what i 've been missing out all this time

Did you ever hear Primal Scream's version on Screamadelica?? Anyway, for those who want to know which lyrics we are mumblin' on about:

13th Elevators - Slip Inside This House

Bedoin tribes ascending
From the egg into the flower,
Alpha information sending
State within the heaven shower
From disciples the unending
Subtleties of river power
They slip inside this house as they pass by

If your limbs begin dissolving
In the water that you tread
All surroundings are evolving
In the stream that clears your head
Find yourself a caravan
Like Noah must have led
And slip inside this house as you pass by.
Slip inside this house as you pass by.

True conception, knowing why
Brings even more than meets the eye
Slip inside this house as you pass by.

In this dark we call creation
We can be and feel and know
From an effort, comfort station
That's surviving on the go
There's infinite survival in
The high baptismal glow.
Slip inside this house as you pass by.

There is no season when you are grown
You are always risen from the seeds you've sown
There is no reason to rise alone
Other stories given have sages of their own.

Live where your heart can be given
And your life starts to unfold
In the forms you envision
In this dream that's ages old
On the river layer is the only sayer
You receive all you can hold
Like you've been told.

Every day's another dawning
Give the morning winds a chance
Always catch your thunder yawning
Lift your mind into the dance
Sweep the shadows from your awning
Shrink the fourfold circumstance
That lies outside this house don't pass it by.

Higher worlds that you uncover
Light the path you want to roam
You compare there and discover
You won't need a shell of foam
Twice born gypsies care and keep
The nowhere of their former home
They slip inside this house as they pass by.
Slip inside this house as you pass by.

You think you can't, you wish you could
I know you can, I wish you would
Slip inside this house as you pass by.

Four and twenty birds of Maya
Baked into an atom you
Polarized into existence
Magnet heart from red to blue
To such extent the realm of dark
Within the picture it seems true
But slip inside this house and then decide.

All your lightning waits inside you
Travel it along your spine
Seven stars receive your visit
Seven seals remain divine
Seven churches filled with spirit,
Treasure from the angels' mine
Slip inside this house as you pass by.
Slip inside this house as you pass by.

The space you make has your own laws
No longer human gods are cause
The center of this house will never die.

There is no season when you are grown
You are always risen from the seeds you've sown
There is no reason to rise alone
Other stories given have sages of their own.

Draw from the well of unchanging
Its union nourishes on
In the right re-arranging
Till the last confusion is gone
Water-brothers trust in the ultimust
Of the always singing song they pass along.

One-eyed men aren't really reigning
They just march in place until
Two-eyed men with mystery training
Finally feel the power fill
Three-eyed men are not complaining.
They can yo-yo where they will
They slip inside this house as they pass by.
Don't pass it by.

only from 1,6,8&10 remember vagly the lyrics,
the rest of them dont ring a bell, unless you played them for me and i cant remember:smokingr:

Primal Scream? Affraid not! Iz good?

Not really that psychedelic but brilliant all the same:

Corporal Clegg had a wooden leg
He won it in the war, in 1944.
Corporal Clegg had a medal too
In orange, red, and blue
He found it in the zoo.
Dear, dear were they really sad for me?
Dear, dear will they really laugh at me?
Mrs. Clegg, you must be proud of him.
Mrs. Clegg, another drop of gin.
Corporal Clegg umbrella in the rain
He's never been the same
No one is to blame
Corporal Clegg received his medal in a dream
From Her Majesty the queen
His boots were very clean.
Mrs. Clegg, you must be proud of him
Mrs. Clegg, another drop of gin.

Aaah yes, Corporal Clegg from Pink Floyd's second album, 'A Saucerful of Secrets' Quality Zinister :Wink3:

Still on a Floyd buzz...

I want to tell you a story
'bout a little man if I can.
A gnome named Grimble Gromble.
And little gnomes stay in their homes,
eating, sleeping, drinking their wine.

He wore a scarlet tunic,
a blue-green hood, it looked quite good.
He had a big adventure
amidst the grass, fresh air at last.
Wining, dining, biding his time...

And then one day...
Hooray!
Another way for gnomes to say
"Ooh my..."

Look at the sky, look at the river.
Isn't it good?
Look at the sky, look at the river.
Isn't it good?

Winding, finding places to go.

And then one day
Hooray!
Another way for gnomes to say
"Ooh my"
"Ooh my..."

no way can you rate purple haze over axis:bold as love, sorry

i guess it's the most obviously psy, but it kind of suffers from over simplicity if you ask me...

You're right, it's the obvious one

What about 7th Son by Sub6. Its not the lyrics that I like but the treatment Michelle Adamson gives it. Super, Sexy, Cool. Especially the Ticon remix from Posse.

half man half biscuit

oh and:

Dreaming of that face again.
It’s bright and blue and shimmering.
Grinning wide
And comforting me with it’s three warm and wild eyes.

On my back and tumbling
Down that hole and back again
Rising up
And wiping the webs and the dew from my withered eye.

In... out... in... out... in... out...

A child’s rhyme stuck in my head.
It said that life is but a dream.
I’ve spent so many years in question
To find I’ve known this all along.

’so good to see you.
I’ve missed you so much.
So glad it’s over.
I’ve missed you so much
Came out to watch you play.
Why are you running? ’

Shroud-ing all the ground around me
Is this holy crow above me.
Black as holes within a memory
And blue as our new second sun.
I stick my hand into his shadow
To pull the pieces from the sand.
Which I attempt to reassemble
To see just who I might have been.
I do not recognize the vessel,
But the eyes seem so familiar.
Like phosphorescent desert buttons
Singing one familiar song...

’so good to see you.
I’ve missed you so much.
So glad it’s over.
I’ve missed you so much.
Came out to watch you play.
Why are you running away? ’

Prying open my third eye.
So good to see you once again.
I thought that you were hiding.
And you thought that I had run away.
Chasing the tail of dogma.
I opened my eye and there we were.

So good to see you once again
I thought that you were hiding from me.
And you thought that I had run away.
Chasing a trail of smoke and reason.

Prying open my third eye

tool!

a bad trip, but none the less roald dahl's genius

from Charlie and the Chocolate factory, the boat journey

There's no earthly way of knowing Which direction we are going There's no knowing where we're rowing Or which way the river's flowing Is it raining? Is it snowing? Is a hurricane a'blowing? Not a speck of light is showing So the danger must be growing Are the fires of hell a'glowing? Is the grisly reaper mowing? Yes! The danger must be growing For the rowers keep on rowing And they're certainly not showing Any signs that they are slowing!

Surprised no-one's mentioned the likes of Love/Arthur Lee. "Forever" changes is one of best psych albums of the late '60s which is saying something :Smile3:

"You go through changes, it may seem strange
Is this what you’re put here for?
You think you’re happy and you are happy
That’s what you’re happy for
There’s a man who can’t decide if he should
Fight for what his father thinks is right
There are people wearing frowns who’ll screw you up
But they would rather screw you down"

you need some emmerson, lake and palmer, and also a band called misty's big adventure

thumbs up for a good top 10

The waterboys - "The Big Music"

I have heard the big music
and I'll never be the same
Something so pure
just called my name

I have drowned in the big sea
now I find I'm still alive
And I'm coming up for ever
shadows all behind me, ecstacy to come

I have
climbed the big tree
Touched the big sky
I just stuck my hand up in the air
And everything came into colour
like Jazz mana from sweet, sweet chariots

I have seen the big mountain
and I swear I'm halfway there

(You'll never get there, you'll never get there, you'll never get there)

But I will, I will always climb the mountain
because...

I have heard the big music
and I'll never be the same
Something so pure
has called my name
