I tried Bombadier the other day and I have to say I wasn't impressed.
Abbot's must surely be up there. Lovely stuff. :Smile3:

its a tad heavy to be sure.....
Tis just a nostalgic fave where im from.....

OOoo... on that train of thought.... Newky Brown anyone....? <nice allrounder>

This is possibly the most difficult question known to man! But assuming all the following are in good form, then in no particular order...

Harviestoun....Schiehallion
Caledonian...IPA
Timothy Taylor...Landlord
Badger...Blandford Fly
Hopback...Summer Lightning

Which obviously shows I am in a summery mood!

ah yes! i am partial to a bottle of dog every now and then :iyes: but other than that id probably say im a hobgoblin man.....altho tanglefoot aint too bad either....

guinness, in the winter (not sure if it counts as an ale, but i like it)
master brew or goldings in the summer, cant beat it

Yep. You cant beat a pint of Guinness. Drink and food in one pint glass. And the bowel movement the next morning is stuff of legends. Thank you Arthur.
We don’t get much ales over here and if you can find them the publicans charge a fortune for them. I do like Bristol Ciders though *off topic*. Fooked if can remember the names of them though.

Guiness, Murphies etc are all stouts.. as is that fave of carnivals - Dragon Stout... (obviously!)

Good to see Landlord mentioned - always liked Timothy Taylor ales - though can vaguely remember some dodgy stuff about the brewers?

Used to like Timothy Taylors Ram Tam as well - but dont really see it anywhere any more...

1) abbot ale
4) green king IPA (<--- the best up *ahem* all day beer)

Gah! Greene King, pah! You want to be stuck in East Angular, where about 75% of all pubs are Greene King. Their IPA is utterly average muck. Abbot is passable, but not on in half their pubs...

There are many many nicer IPAs and none better than Cally's
