If it's the same on the mac as the PC then they have removed the capability to use 2 soundcards...much to the annoyance of Traktor v1 users who've upgraded it seems.

You can use the DirectX ASIO drivers to use Traktor 2 with 2 soundcards - just make sure they're both enabled in the setup dialogue box (will post up a screenshot when I get home).

Would this work with Core Audio (i.e. for Mac OS X) drivers, don't think OS X supports ASIO

Core Audio is meant to supplant ASIO on the OS X platform, but I'd need to see your setup dialogue to figure out if it's possible or not.

I might be visiting my ex soon (She of the Mac habit that caused my disdain for the platform ;) ), and she's got an Edirol soundcard, so I'll see if I can configure it to output from both that and the internal one.

Sure, which is nice as it means low-latency drivers for the built-in audio :)

I'll see if I can check this on a demo.

The way us guys sort this out on a single output sound card (just for messin about) is put traktor into 'use external' mixer mode. Then the software will let you route each deck out in mono (you get different options in the drop down menu). Hardwire left/right into 1/2 on a normal 2 channel DJ mixer and your away with headphone monitoring ;] Only mono but works a treat. Should imagine it would be fine on a multi out card also. Nice to mix with a real cross fader & EQ ;]
