One hell of a design statment too, a centerpiece you decorate a room around.

Have seen similar things before that when you wanted to change speeds you would have to unbolt the motor and change the cog. :iconfused

belt drive is much better for sound reproduction because the motor can be seperate from the platter meaning less rumble etc. direct drive is more sturdy, durable and accurate in forms of timing as there no belt to wear out. but we're talking pure sound reproduction here.

Its been said that a vinyl contains all the sound data necessary for near perfect (better than cd) reproduction, the problem is actually getting it off the vinyl in the first place with minimum interference, not the vinyl itself.

I bet it sounds the nuts either way.
