in the course of not-working recently i have come across quite a few bits of interesting equipment. there's nowhere really to post about this stuff but i just thought it was inordinately cool. too cool to pass away uncommented-upon, even if it's only me posting :Smile3:

1) Pioneer SR-101 Stereo Valve Spring Reverb

from the blurb:

"[font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Extremely rare valve spring reverb from the 1960s - 1970s. Made in Japan with all the terrible spelling mistakes that typified early Japanese manufacture. (Reverb is spelt R-E-V-E-R-B-E on this unit)"

2) RCA Mark II: the first real synth (vacuum tubes!!!)

"The synthesizer had a four-note variable polyphony (in addition to twelve fixed-tone oscillators and a white noise source). The synthesizer was very difficult to set up, requiring extensive patching of analog circuitry prior to running a score. Little attempt was made to teach composition on the synthesizer, and with few exceptions the only people proficient in the machine's usage were the designers at RCA and the engineering staff at Columbia who maintained it.

3) ARC 'Reverb A' room

This is the inside of `Reverberation Chamber A'. The black spaceship is a rotating diffuser which diffuses low frequecy sound. This chamber can be connected to reverberation chamber C by opening the orange steel doors,

Record label mates with Kangaroo Moon too (actually they're the only 2 bands on that label).
