Personally its rare that I get into the whole chunky heavy metal riffs in psy trance but I love guitar in al forms of music and resently I have signed a new act who produces psygressive and he also is a wizz on the guitar so we decided to have a jam and after only about 4 hours we came up with this so he is now also a part of the bionic empire project which makes 3 of us now...this really has the potential to be a sunrise classic...

Enjoy.

Got a nice groove going there. If there's anything I could fault (and this is a pet peeve of mine), it's that the guitar is ever so slightly out of tune with the synths.

I think there's still room for a bit of six-string in dance music *but* the '80s shred-metal sound is definitely on the passe side IMO.

Having said that, it doesn't swamp the mix and sound as intrusive as it does with some *coff*DarkSoho*coff* artists, so well done. :Smile3:

When its done right it rocks. For instance I love the guitar stuff in Shpongle or Younger Brother (not that its really trance). But I can't stand it when a heavy guitar riff comes in, something which has the potential to get me excited, but then remains a boring one chord, heard it a million times, heavy metal riff. In my mind that not only is an insult to trance but also to guitars! Who wants to hear what one chord teenage rockers were writing 15 years ago? Not me...
Still, I believe there is potential for a top-class rock/trace crossover that'll bop all the heads and create a mosh pit. A lot of psy-heads are ex rockers.

I like a guitar in my psy personally - no cheesey stuff mind... Actually I'm looking to get a psy type live thing going so if anyone fancies a jam then let me know.

Guitars in psytrance can sound really sick, again likefolks here said, if it's done right. Alot of time you come across really cheese guitar licks... but it still makes me laugh :Smile3: there's nothing wrong with a bit of cheese i reckon!

Nice tune guys. I thourght it worked well. As for the question of do I like guitars in psy well I like anything thats well done, sounds good and works well for the tune. Don't want to run the risk of not doing something just because it might be shit.

Yeah thats my issue to, cuase he had actually tuned his guitar to the vocals before we had put the synths down and it ended up being just a tiny bit out so were going to have to rechop the sample so it fits better and get the right pitch and then tune the guitar again.....When its done it will kick some royal ass! perfect morning track

In my opinion guitar riffs in psy trance can either sound utter shite(usually in israli/ cheesy psy) or can sound PHAT(chunky, heavy riffs sound sublime with dark full-power psy trance). One of the tracks in Dj Slaters mix is a prime example! As for your track, its sound pretty good and well mastered; however i do prefer darker, harder and heavier psy trance!!!

Most definetly have to agree with speakafreaka on the Meteor 2004. Saw Electric Universe live a few times, and the guy that plays guitar just jumps about so much, pulls lunatic faces and generally rocks. One of the best live acts I've seen... but then there's Skazi...

This is the slowest track I have ever writtin....We have a track which is sort of skaiz is with a dark nebula feel inparts but the guitar isnt on it yet but I have used the slayer and I have confused people....They always refer to it as the guitar track...Will post you the link cuase I reckon it may be right down your ally.....
