Here’s my favourite from Karen...


It was either that one or Goodbye To Love. Both are sublime but Goodbye To Love is distilled essence of Karen Carpenter, and she sings it like she's living it. Because she was. Supernaturally gorgeous voice and fucking good drummer too.
 
love x-ray specs... I was blessed to hear Tarantism play a cover of ‘Germ Free Adolescence,’ in memory of Poly - it was absolutely breathtaking and hushed the room.



Poly Styrene was my first ever proper pop-star crush, aged ten, and it was this performance which swung it. She's so beautiful and other-worldly. Wish I'd met her.
 
It took 9 seconds of listening to this, before I knew I had to post it here and this is where I am going to finish listening to it.
