singing computer voice???

does anyone know how i can make this sound or if theres a downloadable vst for it? it sounds like Steven Hawking singing along if you see what i mean (like in Divine Moments of Truth by Shpongle) i guess using the Mac speech thingy, sampling it and vocoding might work but i was just wondering if there was an easy way...

I have used a wav file produced with speach synth program put through a vocoder with mixed success before

FL Studio has a speech synthesizer plugin which does exactly what you described.

Otherwise there are a few VSTi plugins around, i believe - Vocaloid and Cantor spring to mind, but they are intended more as virtual vocalists, so might be overkill for you.

useful for doubling a vocal line... use the same melody played by a vocoder on a synth line

Just before christmas i adopted a very old Kurzwiel zerox text to speech machine. I hope to take it appart to put an audio out socket into it. It is a bit bulky but cant wait to get it into a tune. The sound is so damn dated its pricless

As @whitedog says, Vocaloid is great, they recently brought out more English voices (the software was originally designed for use in Japanese).
