I may kill myself now
after months of looking at hardware
i bought this x49
after installation
none of my audio programs launch
it all says no midi library support or such things
nothings works
including my controller
what to do does anyone know
pleeeeaaaaaseeeeee

Does it have a tech support number .....?

Have you confirgured your audio programs to use new drivers etc .....?

what is an emu xboard 49 ? - might help if people knew ..... I dont know what it is .... post, it may help someone help you.

i mean i have installed the xboard into macintosh hd

it doesnt matter now if i unplug the controller or delete the driver from the midi drivers folder

there is also m-audios driver in midi drivers folder

and it doesnt matter if its logic or reason 3.0 or garageband 2.0 they all say nearly the same thing

yes i have tried reinstalling nothing changes, this is crazy i cannot understand

reason 3.0 ---> failed to open midi support library
garageband 2.01 ----> timeout or timer inactive, check other app using timer or midi, mac osx midi services not available
logic 7.01 ---> exactly the same with garageband

512MB would be OK if you're primarily triggering hardware, but it's hopelessly inadequate if you're using plugins to any degree.

Make sure you get your terminology right - you're after 1GB, you already have 1GHz! Computer shops have a nasty habit of not allowing returns if the product isn't broken, so make sure you get the *right* RAM. Let me know the model number (should be on a sticker somewhere on the base), and I'll tell you what you need (there are 3 variants of G4 Powerbooks that all have very different RAM).

Be glad you never had to do anything serious with OS9.0... *shudder*

Hope you get this sorted, if I can help I will. :Smile3:

D'oh!

Well, there are many different iMacs too (of which I've worked on an original 233MHz Bondi Blue, a 400MHz Grape one (the notorious OS9 machine) and a 1.25GHz desk lamp), so let us know which you have!

I ve sold the mystery
i deleted all the drivers from midi folder
and everything works now
i always hated the drivers anyway :Smile3:

yes I know which ram i have to go for
actually mac os 9 was ok with me but whne i had the first osX i was like wow
but 10.3.9 just took all that fairy dust off my belief on osX
crashes, hardware compatibility issues, driver problems
all those i thought i wouldnt care anymore
